City of West Palm Beach recently issued the following announcement.
Mayor Keith A. James has promoted Jose-Luis Rodriguez, Esq. from City of West Palm Beach Chief Human Resource Officer to Assistant City Administrator. He will oversee the Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology and Library Departments.
The city’s administrative team now includes City Administrator Faye Johnson, Assistant City Administrator Armando Fana and Assistant City Administrator Rodriguez. The organization employs 1,700 employees serving 117,000 residents and visitors.
Mr. Rodriguez brings to the position over 22 years of combined experience in the areas of governmental, administrative and environmental operations, human resources, and law. In May 2014, he joined the city as Chief Human Resources Officer. Among his recent achievements in that position was serving as chief negotiator in the successful negotiation of historic, collective bargaining agreements with the Police Benevolent Association, Fraternal Order of Police, International Association of Firefighters, Service Employees International Union and the Professional Managers and Supervisors Association. Prior to joining the city, Mr. Rodriguez served as Assistant Deputy Executive Director and Business Services Director at the South Florida Water Management District. He also practiced law in the private sector.

Mr. Rodriguez is an attorney and has been a member of the Florida Bar for over 22 years. He holds a Juris Doctor in Law from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts from the George Washington University.
