MEDIA ALERT: Public is invited to Sandi Tree’s 700-ton departure From Downtown

City of West Palm Beach recently issued the following announcement.

WHO:

Fans and friends of Sandi will wave a final goodbye to the holiday sand tree as she is loaded up and driven away.

WHAT:

Sandi brought joy and lots of light this season to celebrate the holidays and her 10th birthday. Now, it is time to say goodbye as she leaves for vacation.

Her 10th year was a momentous one, being crowned the winner of the 2021 USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice poll for "Best Public Holiday Lights Display.” The star of Holiday in Paradise, Sandi will continue to have light shows until midnight on December 31.

Sandi’s sand will be recycled and used in various City projects.

VISUALS:

Large dump trucks loading up 800-tons of sand (Sandi is 700-tons; the rest is used on additional sculptures)

WHERE: West Palm Beach Great Lawn; 101 N. Clematis St., West Palm Beach, FL 33401  

WHEN: Monday, January 3, 2022 starting between 7 – 8 a.m. and lasting 3 – 4 days
