Yamato Nursing and Rehabilitation Center ranked as the third largest nursing home in Palm Beach County during the first quarter of 2026, matching the size of two other facilities, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). It shared this position with Legacy at Boca Raton Rehabilitation and Nursing Ce and Isles of Boynton Nursing and Rehab Center.

Records show the facility offered 180 available beds, which is 66 beds more than the Palm Beach County average for the period ending in the first quarter of 2026. The center served an average of 170.5 residents during that span.

The CMS awarded Yamato Nursing and Rehabilitation Center an overall rating of 2 out of 5. This figure falls below the state average rating of 3.3 for Florida nursing homes.

The Joseph L Morse Health Center, Inc. was the largest nursing home in Palm Beach County with 230 beds as of the first quarter. Darcy Hall of Life Care was second, reporting 220 beds.

Yamato Nursing and Rehabilitation Center reported no fines or penalties for the first quarter of 2026.

Palm Beach County, Florida, had 39 for-profit nursing homes in total during the reporting period.

According to U.S. Census Bureau estimates, the number of older adults in the United States is rising, while the population of younger groups is declining. From 2020 to 2024, Americans age 65 and older increased by 13%, while those under 18 dropped by 1.7%. The country’s older population has grown dramatically since 1920, from 4.9 million to more than 61 million by 2024.

A 2021 study found that roughly 28 million people, or nearly half of older adults, are likely to need long-term services and supports. Furthermore, projections indicate that over one-third may eventually need nursing home care.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education group. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
