An illegal alien from Guatemala has been arrested for allegedly exposing himself to a woman and her 11-year-old daughter, marking his second arrest for similar offenses in just over a year in West Palm Beach.
“On Wednesday, illegal alien and Guatemalan national Abraham Castro was arrested for Indecent Exposure and Lewd and Lascivious Behavior - Exhibition of a Victim Under 16. And this isn't the first time,” the X account user Illegal Alien Crimes wrote in a Dec. 13 post.
“Castro is accused of asking a mother and daughter to take a picture of him then exposing himself in November. He is accused of committing the same crime against two women in December of last year," the post said.
According to a news release by the City of West Palm Beach, Castro, 36, was apprehended on Dec. 11 after allegedly approaching a mother and daughter who were photographing holiday decorations on Clematis Street.
Police reports show that Castro asked the victims to take his picture with his cell phone before exposing himself.
The incident occurred on November 28 around 6 p.m. in the 600 block of Clematis Street. After the victims took Castro's photo, he allegedly directed their attention downward to reveal that he had exposed himself.
West Palm Beach Police Department's Strategic Intelligence Center reviewed surveillance footage and distributed a law enforcement bulletin. Two weeks later, an Entertainment District Unit officer recognized Castro, who was riding a bicycle on Banyan Boulevard wearing clothing that matched the suspect description.
Following his arrest and after being read his Miranda Rights, Castro reportedly admitted to the offense.
He faces charges of lewd and lascivious behavior on a child under 16, exposure of sex organs, and failure to appear from a previous arrest in Dec. 2023, when he was charged with similar offenses involving two women.
Castro is currently being held without bail at the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office Main Detention Center.
Homeland Security Investigations has placed a detainer on him, and he faces additional charges of illegal reentry once the current case concludes.
