The Diocese of Palm Beach announced on May 21 the launch of Helping Hands for Cuba, a humanitarian campaign organized through its Catholic Charities Palm Beach office.
The initiative aims to provide relief to families in Cuba facing significant challenges. The diocese called on parishioners, families, ministries, and community members to participate by donating food and hygiene items at designated parishes during collection days.
“As Catholics, we cannot turn our backs on the pain of our brothers and sisters. We are called to respond with love in action. Through this campaign, we have the opportunity to bring hope, dignity, and relief to families who are enduring enormous difficulties,” the statement said.
Donations requested include items such as rice, pasta, and soap. “No donation is too small. A bag of rice, a box of pasta, a bar of soap—each item becomes a sign of God’s provision and compassion for His people,” the announcement said.
The diocese thanked participants for their support: “Thank you for opening your hearts and extending your hands to the people of Cuba. Together, we can remind them they are not forgotten.” Additional information about collection details is available at https://www.ccdpb.org.
